A ELDERLY man was taken to hospital after a fire at a bungalow near Harrogate.
The 86-year-old man was found by firefighters lying on the floor of the kitchen with a head injury, and suffering from smoke inhalation.
The fire at the bungalow in Nidd Rise, Birstwith, is thought to have started as a result of an electrical fault on a television. The lounge of the bungalow was severely damaged by the fire, while the rest of the property also suffered heat and smoke damage.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at about 6pm yesterday.
