ORGANISERS of the National Farmer's Union Food and Farming Roadshow will roll into York city centre tomorrow to answer questions about agriculture.
Local farmers accompanied by their livestock have been touring the UK all summer in an attempt to educate children and their parents.
A recent NFU survey conducted in the North-East revealed many adults know as little about which agricultural crops are grown in their region as eight-year-old children.
The public will be encouraged to fire questions at farmers during the event staged in Parliament Street, York.
NFU spokesman Rob Simpson said: "The roadshow will give the public an insight into what our farmers do, and the vast array of foods they produce."
Farmer Johnny Ball said: "The British countryside produces a wealth of food, flowers and plants to an exceptionally high standard. The roadshow will help raise awareness of what is on offer and what their local farmer is bringing to the table."
