FOOTBALL mad teenager Sarah Kennedy has returned from the Far East as a world cup winner after starring in an international street soccer tournament.
The 17-year-old from York - who has won Wales Under-16 caps - was playing for Leeds City Vixens, England's representatives at the tournament in Kuala Lumpur.
Sponsored by sport and leisurewear company Puma, the four-a-side Street Soccer World Cup took place in a renovated car park in the Malaysian capital.
The Vixens, who were defending the title they won last year when they qualified as Yorkshire and British champions, beat China 3-1 in the final to avenge a 3-2 defeat in the group games.
Victories over Ireland and hosts Malaysia had seen the England side progress to the final as runners-up in the group.
