Scarborough will have to contend with a former England Under-21 international when they entertain Conference League newcomers Dagenham and Redbridge tomorrow (3pm).

Midfielder Mark Brennan played more than 400 League and Cup games for Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Manchester City and Oldham and won six Under-21 caps in a distinguished career which once saw him transferred for £500,000.

Also in the Dagenham ranks is ex-QPR and Wales goalkeeper Tony Roberts.

Dagenham have had a mixed start to life in the Conference after being promoted as Ryman League champions. They had a good 2-0 win at Stevenage on Monday while Scarborough were sinking to their first defeat of the season, 2-0 against Leigh RMI.

'Boro coach Neil Thompson said: "They're a big, strong team, play a very quick game and are good on set pieces.

"We didn't play well on Monday but it's only one defeat. It's how we bounce back that's important."

Marcus Jones has recovered from a knee injury so 'Boro will be at full strength.
