TO save further confusion following numerous calls to our offices, I should like to set the record straight about the Midland Symphony Orchestra's Last Night At The Proms concert this year.
My name is John Reid and for the last nine years, up to and including last year, I have been responsible for promoting the Last Night At The Proms at Castle Howard; a very successful event attracting audiences of more than 12,000 people. This year we have moved our concert to Ripley Castle, tomorrow.
We no longer have any association with Castle Howard.
Our concert will feature all the usual traditions from previous years - picnics, a spectacular fireworks display, cannon and musket effects plus all the rousing music to encourage audience participation and create a great atmosphere.
I hope this makes the situation clear and that we will have many more years of what has become a great Yorkshire tradition.
