TEN members of the York Rowing club set sail from Harwich today as they travel to Hazewinkle in Belgium for the World Veterans Rowing Championships, which start tomorrow and continue over the weekend.
The team will be entering 13 events - including eights, fours and pairs races - which will all be governed on age groups and will be raced over the eight-lane 1,000 metre Hazewinkle course.
It promises to be a tough test of the York rowers' abilities as they come up against the best in the world, with the challenge from Europe expected to be the hottest - Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Bulgaria are the major tips to do well.
