I AM 80 and I remember the days when people left school at 14.
I put it to your readers that never in living memory have so many mistakes been made in English grammar, syntax and spelling as we find on the printed page today.
At this time of year we are bombarded with GCSE result successes, comment and editorials etc in the media.
Where is the evidence of all this on the printed page? One cannot pick up a magazine, paper or book without errors leaping to the eye.
Am I alone in these opinions? I ask other readers to write to this newspaper with their views.
