BIG Neville Southall makes a playing comeback tonight as York City reserves take on Stoke reserves at Bootham Crescent (kick off 7pm).

The former Everton and Wales legend was on the bench for the Minstermen's 1-0 defeat of Barnet on Monday, after signing non-contract forms with the club.

The 41-year-old custodian - who has been a part-time goalkeeping coach at Bootham Crescent since the back end of last season - provides cover for City's No 2, youngster Russ Howarth, who is away on England Under-18 duty.

Striker Barry Conlon is also set to play, two days after coming on as a late substitute and setting up Colin Alcide's last-gasp winner against Barnet.

City will be the subject of a Radio 5 Live programme which is scheduled to be broadcast tomorrow afternoon.

It will attempt to show what life is like at a lower League club away from the glitz and glamour of the Premiership.

The feature has been produced by York-based freelance radio journalist Jerry Ibbotson, of Media Mill, who was at Bootham Crescent on Monday, talking to a variety of people before, during and after the 1-0 win over Barnet.

Those likely to be featured include player Mark Sertori, backroom staff, groundsman Bryan Horner, safety officers, fans and even enigmatic club mascot Yorkie.

The ten-minute finished article will be broadcast during the Ian Payne show, between 1pm and 4pm tomorrow.

Stoke have reduced the entrance prices for the second leg of the Worthington Cup clash with City at the Britannia Stadium on September 6.
