STAR performers Stuart Coleman and Nicky James are the winners of the Costcutter York and District Senior Cricket League Monthly Awards for July.
They will be presented with a cheque and engraved tankard at the end-of-season prize-giving ceremony on Wednesday, September 13.
Carlton Towers batsman Coleman earned his award with his unbeaten 136 against Castleford on July 1 - a score which held off the challenge of Collis King's 129 on July 29 and Stamford Bridge's Graham Flint, who made 128 not out in a massive unbeaten stand of 273 with John Dodds (122 not out) against Bolton Percy in division five on July 8.
There were 14 centuries in July.
Heslington's Nick James stole the bowling award on July 29 when he captured 9-25 against Londesbrough, a performance which snatched the honours from Cawood's Karl Scott who had taken 9-66 against Civil Service on July 8.
Scott's feat was part of a record-breaking all-round performance for he followed his nine-wicket feat with an unbeaten 69 off only 38 balls to become the first player in the league's recorded history to take nine wickets and score a half-century in the same game.
Scott also had an 8-38 haul on July 29 as 14 bowlers claimed seven or more wickets in a game during July.
Costcutter chairman and managing director Colin Graves has a busy 2001 ahead of him.
He is chairman of Yorkshire and England star Darren Gough's benefit year.
The 'Dazzler' was at Costcutter headquarters in Dunnington last week as his benefit year committee began to formulate their plans.
Between 50 and 60 events throughout the country are in the pipeline for 2001 and will be co-ordinated from Costcutter HQ.
