THERE was no joy for Stillington women's professional golfer Kirsty Taylor in the final round of the Compaq Open at Barseback, near Malmo, Sweden.
After leading after the second round Taylor, a member of The York club, slipped off the pace before shooting a final round 80 and had to settle for eighth place.
American Juli Inkster took the £45,000 first prize despite dropping three shots at the final two holes.
Inkster, one ahead after a course record-equalling 67 in the third round, could only manage a four-over-par 76 in a final round of high winds, and took the trophy by one from Sophie Gustafson, the Swede who won the Weetabix British Open at Royal Birkdale last week.
