BENINGBROUGH Hall, near York, has been shortlisted for the National Trust's prestigious Gardens Award.
The hall's magnificent grounds were voted among the most popular in the UK by National Trust members and visitors.
Beningbrough Hall is now in the running to win one of the five regional prizes of £1,000, to be invested in further improvements to the garden.
"To be shortlisted for this prestigious award reflects the dedication that goes into the planning and upkeep of the garden," said Mike Calnan, head of gardens at the National Trust.
"We are thrilled at the number of visitors who have taken time to show their support and passion for this outstanding garden."
