IBIZA vibes are making this weekend a red hot party in a Heworth pub.
Extreme preparations for the two-day celebration of summer include shovelling more than 12 tonnes of sand into the Shoulder of Mutton pub, in Heworth Green.
Another four tonnes will cover an outside patio, transforming the whole area into a beach.
Assistant manager Andrew Plant and his team have worked through the night to ensure that the sun-drenched spirit of Europe's favourite party destination comes to Heworth.
He said: "We were working through the night to get everything ready, but I'm sure we'll find enough energy to get into the party mood."
Along with the sand, the bar will become a beach hut, disco lights will let it rival Ibiza's top clubs and children's games will keep the youngsters happy in the daytime.
Andrew's predecessors Paul Egan and Susie Matthews were known for their unique theme nights which included an Easter party, complete with a replica of Christ's tomb and three 8ft crosses.
