STILLINGTON professional golfer Kirsty Taylor is shaping up for her second big pay day in a week.
The York golf club member is currently joint second on the leader board of those players who completed the first round of the Women's Compaq Open, being staged in Malmo in Sweden.
Taylor shot a two under par 70, as did Scot Kathryn Marshall, to trail Sweden's Annika Sorenstam, who also completed her 18 holes, by one shot.
However, there is a challenge waiting in the wings as the first round was hit as a storm broke over the Barseback course forcing play to be abandoned leaving British star Laura Davies in a strong position at three under par after 15 holes.
Taylor will be aiming to continue the strong form that saw her take joint second place, and pocket a prize of over £50,000, in the British Open at Royal Birkdale last weekend.
Tiger Woods is the overnight leader of the NEC Invitational at Akron, USA, after shooting a first roundsix-under par 64.
Darren Clarke, Paul Price and Lee Westwood lead the British challenge, two strokes behind Woods.
