Trevor Quainton's Selby side went down under a hail of shots in the Yoplait Men's All England Bowls Triples first round at Worthing.
Quainton and his team mates Walter Cox and Roger Wood conceded a single at the opening end to Gordon Ballantyne's side from Thatcham, Berkshire but were soon on the scorecard with a single and treble to move ahead 4-1.
However, the opposition pulled back three shots over the next two ends to draw level at 4-4 and the teams were still locked together at 6-6 eight ends later.
Then disaster struck the Selby trio as Ballantyne blitzed them with a treble and a stunning six to power ahead 15-6 after ten ends.
Quainton clawed back a single at the next but he and his colleagues were soon in more trouble as Ballantyne went for the kill, piling up 15 shots over the next five ends to charge to victory 30-7.
