ROADSIDE fields are to be used to promote the British Farm Standard and to urge shoppers to help the nation's farmers.
The National Farmers' Union has issued more than 200 banners to members, who will display them in prominent fields. The three metre wide banners display the red and blue tractor, which symbolises food which has been produced to strict animal welfare, environmental and food hygiene standards. The logo is used on thousands of farm-produced foods.
NFU deputy president Tim Bennett said: "Now this year's harvest is nearly over, those sites are becoming more readily accessible."
