ERROL GREY thought he was on his way to York Races when he stopped to pick up his fiance at a hotel on the outskirts of York.
But Errol was stunned and reduced to tears to find he was at his own wedding.
His fiance, Claire Holtby, who famously streaked at Wembley Stadium last year, had been planning the surprise for two months and caught Errol completely unaware.
"It's unbelievable, I'm totally overwhelmed," said a still trembling Errol, 51, who recently moved to York from London.
And he said he did not mind missing out on the races.
Claire, 33, of Acomb, was led up the aisle at the Jarvis International Hotel at Skelton and given away by her son Joshua, ten. Daughter Hannah, eight, was her bridesmaid.
She said she was thrilled the top-secret nuptials had gone to plan and that no one had let the cat out of the bag, but would not be drawn on whether she would return to her streaking ways as a married woman.
