THE final event of Clifton CC's evening circuit time trial series saw Robert Osman enjoy a comfortable victory to secure the series title.
Osman covered the 13-mile Sheriff Hutton-Whenby-Brandsby-Stillington circuit in 32mins 07secs, which gave him a 1-41 winning margin over Paul Musgrave in second place.
It was Osman's fifth ride in the series, thus qualifying him for the title, which he took with a 100 per cent racing record.
Third place in the race went to Nick Scull with 34-23, nine seconds clear of Stuart Duthie in fourth, while Pete Skelton secured the veterans' title with 34-38 for fifth place.
Other times: Claire Gilmartin 40-44; L. Osguthorpe 38-53; B Liddle 37-02; A Clune 41-10; L Hunwick 40-12.
VC York's Chris Clark, who took second place in the Mike Binks Memorial Road Race at Ingleby Greenhow two weeks ago, went one better on Sunday with a deserved victory in Rutland CC's road race at Stalybridge.
Clark took the chequered flag from breakaway companion Simon Keeton of the promoting club after 35 laps of a technical 1.75-mile circuit.
Keeton's clubmate, Darren Otter, led home a group a five riders for third place.
Other York riders also faired well, with Clifton CC's Paul Musgrave escaping the bunch with two laps to go to finish tenth.
Clark's team-mate Paul Scott won the bunch spirit for 12th place and Clifton's Rob Osman finished in the next group.
Musgrave took fourth place in the previous week's Thornton Trophy Road Race promoted by Wansbeck CC on roads north of Morpeth in Northumberland.
Victory went to unattached rider Aiden Kerr, who had built a 4mins 10secs winning margin after breaking clear midway through the 68-mile race.
Marshalls-Haro rider Jonathan Rosenbrier won the uphill sprint finish from a group of 25 riders with VC Azzurri's Ronnie Batey and Musgrave the next two over the line.
Osman also finished in this group.
