Three Oaks winners are set to meet tomorrow in what promises to be one of the highlights of York's three-day Festival.

The £220,000 Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks features Love Divine, winner of this year's Vodafone Oaks, crossing swords with her stablemate Ramruma, winner of the Epsom classsic last year, and also Petrushka, winner of last month's Irish Oaks. Little wonder, then, that Richard Quinn, rider of Love Divine, describes the race as a "showcase event."

Quinn, though, could well be left disappointed by the outcome as Petrushka has an excellent chance of turning the tables on Love Divine following their Epsom clash.

Sir Michael Stoute's filly did not get the run of the race that day, being shuffled back into a poor position coming down Tattenham Hill which resulted in her being out of her ground when the modest pace increased suddenly at the three-furlong pole.

That she managed to finish fourth was a very creditable effort, and Petrushka has since underlined her class by powering home in the Irish Oaks to score in emphatic fashion.

Unbeaten in both her races this season, Love Divine will not be short of supporters and looks sure to make a bold bid to confirm her superiority over Petrushka.

As for Ramruma, likewise trained by Henry Cecil, she took all before her last year when she added this race to her victories in the English and Irish Oaks.

Back in that sort of form, she would command the utmost respect, but one below-par run this season does not inspire confidence, though it has to be remembered that Cecil would not be running her unless he felt she could do herself justice.

The smart Interlude, a stable-mate of Petrushka, will also be in the field, along with two other useful fillies, Ela Athena and Miletrian. In what promises to be a cracking race, Petrushka, with Johnny Murtagh in the saddle, can come through with flying colours.

The £175,000 Tote Ebor Handicap has attracted its usual ultra-competitive line-up and Give The Slip, the mount of Pat Eddery, looks to have all the right credentials.

A progressive three-year-old, who races up with the pace, he ran an absolute blinder in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes at Goodwood last time to be beaten little more than a length into fourth-place by Millenary.

Due to go up 8lb in future handicaps, Give The Slip runs off his old mark here and makes strong appeal. His stamina has to be taken on trust, but his manner of racing over a mile and a half suggests that this extra two furlongs will not inconvenience him.

Dangers are in abundance and include Biennale, Bay Of Islands, Temple Way, Ligne Gagnante, Inch Perfect and Boreas, the red-hot favourite, who came back from a long break to win here last month and who represents Luca Cumani, successful in last year's Ebor with Vicious Circle.

Give The Slip, however, has plenty going for him and is napped to live up to his name.

Media Mogul, trained near Thirsk by David Barron, can gain compensation for his narrow defeat in the July Stakes by winning the Scottish Equitable Gimcrack Stakes, while Nooshman, third in the John Smith's Cup here last month, is worthy of close attention in the Motability Rated Handicap.
