YORK'S top Du-Athlete Colin Hawxby, pictured above, will come up against the world's best in October.
The British team member, who was in the squad who faced United States last year, has been selected in the national side to race in a world team event to be held in Calais.
Hawxby, who won the silver medal in the British Championships in Jersey in May, starts his warm-up to the competition this weekend when he tests his cycling and distance running abilities much closer to home in the British Elite Du-Athlete Championships at Tadcaster on Saturday.
It will be Hawxby's debut in the elite category and it is all part of his build up to next year's big event - the Powerman Championships, which are to be held in Zofingen, Switzerland.
