Yorkshire's director of coaching, Martyn Moxon, was today contacting England cricket chairman David Graveney to see if the county's three Test heroes will be allowed to play for Phoenix tomorrow in their National League game against Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road.

Moxon wants to call up Test man-of-the-match Michael Vaughan and his England team-mates Darren Gough and Craig White as Pheonix aim for a third consecutive victory, which would revive their hopes of lifting the Division One title.

But even if the trio play, Yorkshire might still be without Matthew Hoggard, who was made 12th man for the sensational triumph over the West Indies at Headingley.

Hoggard is nursing a swollen knee after bumping into a gate when taking something on to the field at Headingley on Thursday.

Yorkshire are waiting for a fitness report which will reveal if the fast bowler will be able to play tomorrow.
