HEAVY rain towards the end of the second round could not prevent Robert Bundy from retaining his York Open Champio-nship crown.
The Boothferry professional had rounds of 76 and 69 to come through the field at Malton and Norton.
Bundy seemed off the pace in the morning round, finishing five strokes adrift of leader Chris Tyson (Kirkbymoor-side).
But Bundy's second round 69 was the best score of the day and saw him snatch victory from Tyson by one stroke.
