RECENTLY I visited York for a couple of days with my father. It was his 70th birthday treat. I an writing to say thank you for a wonderful couple of days.
We went around the Minster, the Treasurer's House, the Castle Museum, the Old Castle and the National Railway Museum. Everyone we came into contact with was helpful and polite
The team at the Treasurer's House was informative and the woman at the Castle had time for a chat. Even the bus driver made sure we got off at the correct stop for the Travelodge and was most pleasant.
Coming from a holiday area I know locals get fed up with tourists and by mid to late season begin to give up. In York everyone was so friendly and kind. So a big thank you - dad and I really enjoyed ourselves and will be back next year with mum in tow.
