FORMER York Wasps favourite Jamie Benn has returned to Huntington Stadium on a one-year contract.
The 23-year-old full-back, who broke York's goals and points in a match record in the 1999 season, was recently released by Castleford Tigers.
He had spent most of the current Super League season in the Tigers' Alliance side and will relish the chance to get back into regular first team action.
Benn opted for York ahead of several other clubs chasing his signature.
York have also taken on a 22-year trialist from the Army, centre Richie Baxter, until the end of December.
