YORK City chief Terry Dolan is looking for his Minstermen to get mean and moody.
After last week's 4-1 defeat at Chesterfield, the City manager wants a swift return to York's end of season rigid rearguard starting at home to Cheltenham tomorrow.
"Last Saturday was uncharacteristic," said Dolan.
"We had just developed this reputation of being a mean team and not giving much away when all of a sudden you lose four goals in 30 minutes.
"I wouldn't blame individuals for the goals but as a team we weren't a strong enough unit.
"We knew having gone through the first-half without too many scares there was going to be a part of the game where they would get on top and we didn't really close ranks well enough.
"There was no real 'over my dead body attitude' and that disappointed me
"The players are aware of it now. The positive side of not having a midweek game is we have had four or five days to stress the things we need to be better at."
The City manager, who has yet to taste defeat since taking formal control at Bootham Crescent, admitted any repeat of the Saltergate sloppiness would be punished by a physical and hardworking Cheltenham.
"The report that we have is that to have a chance of beating Cheltenham we cannot afford to have any passengers, everybody has got to be on top of his game both physically and mentally..
Dolan is set stick with the same starting line-up despite last week's disappointment, meaning clubman of the year Barry Jones will have to be content with a place on the bench.
The sometime City skipper damaged ribs in pre-season but played a full 90 minutes in the reserves' 1-1 draw with Walsall on Wednesday night.
"I thought Mark Sertori did okay last week to be fair and I thought Jonesy started a little bit sluggishly for the reserves but did better in the second-half," explained Dolan
"But we are going to need Jonesy in ten days time anyway (when Peter Swan's three-match ban starts)."
Wayne Hall's absence with a thigh strain means, with Gary Hobson able to play on the left if required, Colin Alcide and possibly Marc Thompson will come into the squad.
