THE three people injured in a two-car crash near York, in which 59-year-old mother of two Nora Hill, from Rufforth, was killed, are continuing to recover in hospital today.

Her husband, Peter Hill, 71, who was critically injured in the head-on crash on the B1224 Wetherby road on Monday, today remained in a stable condition at York District Hospital.

The couple's daughter, Christine Hill, 37, from York, was today said to be in a comfortable condition.

Coun Janet Hopton, City of York Council Independent member for Upper Poppleton, was also said to be "comfortable" in hospital today.

Mrs Hill died and the three were injured when a Jaguar car, Coun Hopton and her surgeon husband David were travelling in, lost control and was involved in a collision with an oncoming Rover carrying the Hills family.
