I HAVE lived off Lawrence Street for the past 45 years and have seen it gradually turn into a car park. Now there's a proposal to build 250 flats on old factory premises and to ban cars from the site. On the face of it very praiseworthy, but are we being conned here?

More flats can be built if no provision is made for cars, giving bigger profits for the builders.

Let's face it cars can be banned from the site but can we ban the residents of the flats from having cars?

So where do you think they will be left unused overnight?

On Lawrence Street of course, where else?
