BP may as well stand for Bird Power.
A family of pied wagtails stopped Scarborough-based Forge The Signmakers in their tracks when it came to re-imaging work at a BP petrol station near Alcester, Warwickshire.
The wagtails' nest in the forecourt canopy at Oversley Mill filling station halted signage work in that part of the building for three days.
Forge workers called local RSPB man Alan King to the petrol station the moment they discovered the little family home and he called for a stop to the work.
The signmakers managed to work around the nest with other re-imaging work but by the time they had to replace the central panel of the main fascia, the fledglings had still not flown the nest.
They had to wait another three days for the little ones to take wing.
