NOTHING flusters Victoria Tomlinson, founder and owner of Northern Lights of Harrogate. She's no worrier. So what's this anti-worrier doing among the warriors?
She's celebrating the tenth birthday of her PR consultancy with Zimbabwe's top a'Capella performing arts group Imbizo.
They were foot-stamping in the Harrogate Festival of which Northern Lights is a sponsor - and to celebrate the anniversary, Victoria took 50 guests, including past and present clients first to a Basque supper at Biscaya Bay restaurant and then to see Imbizo perform its dazzling Zulu traditional dances at the Harrogate Theatre round the corner.
Victoria said: "We wanted to thank our clients in a very special way - and Harrogate Festival enabled us to do this with style. Over ten years we have been privileged to work with first-rate clients on challenging and stimulating work.
"We have stayed purposely small so we can deliver a very personal service and we continue to evaluate the success of our work in terms of bottom-line results."
Northern Lights is one of the few northern consultancies to win the Institute of Public Relations Sword of Excellence award - four times so far - and has won other accolades, including an award for Plain English.
Its clients include North Yorkshire TEC, Shepherd Construction, top entrepreneur Jan Fletcher, IMS Group plc, Shulmans Solicitors, the Garden Room Restaurant, Harrogate, and Townsend Fine Jewellers, Wetherby.
Imbizo will be performing at the Grand Opera House in York on September 22.
