YORK horse rider Heidi Simmonds is celebrating after winning a place in the finals of a national horse trial.
Heidi, from Sheriff Hutton, and her horse PJs Sterling came second in the Super Solvitax Novice Owner/Rider qualifier at Osmaston Park Horse Trials in Derbyshire. The result sees her mount now with 23 horse trials points.
Heidi, a lecturer and course manager at Bishop Burton College, said: "We had a good dressage, one show-jump down and then a good cross-country. I was very pleased with the way the horse went."
Trained by Mike Gee, Heidi also enjoys teaching private clients. She will compete in the final at Henbury Hall in Cheshire at the end of this month.
