A FATHER of three whose computer shop in Sherburn-in-Elmet has failed has appealed to his creditors to allow him to make a voluntary arrangement to clear his debts of more than £41,000.
Nigel Bateman, whose shop, Microsel, in Finkle Hill, has now ceased trading, has called a meeting of creditors at Devonshire House in York Place, Leeds, on Monday, August 14 to propose a voluntary arrangement which he says would ensure a quicker and greater dividend to them than they would get if he was made bankrupt.
Mr Bateman reported to an insolvency hearing at Leeds County Court: "The retail industry in respect of computer hardware is now suffering a substantial downturn and accordingly the business has suffered from a reduction in turnover."
