IT'S back by popular demand: Colourscape, the magical labyrinth of colour, light and sound, returns to York's Museum Gardens this weekend.
Visitors walk through a series of coloured areas, wearing cloaks of primary colours which alter as they progress through the chambers.
And they see how the brain creates colours, while discovering the emotional effects of colour and light, as musicians play through a network of hidden loudspeakers in the structure.
Colourscape is made of special PVC material, thin enough to let through colour and light, and also waterproof - a useful quality given the soaking summer.
"Last year we had a lot of rain and it was fine," said a spokesman.
"It's totally soft. Some people who go inside say it's like being inside the human body, some say it's like being in the womb. It's very soft and it's got a lovely feel to it. The material feels soft and tactile."
York Millennium Colourscape Festival is open from noon until 6pm each day until next Sunday, with admission £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, and reductions for York Card Holders.
