LYNNE MARTIN visits an oriental fast food unit at the McArthurGlen designer outlet at Naburn
I was all designered out and ready for a sit down and a bite to eat - although I did draw the line at sitting in the boat, even though Singapore Sam's was our port of call.
Faster-than-fast oriental food is on offer here with all the popular dishes keeping warm under heated lights. My beef with peppers and black beans looked fairly authentic and I chose chow mein to go with it. Chris chose chicken with cashew nuts and fried rice.
What a disappointment. I don't know if it was the beef or the noodles or both which were to blame, but my food wasn't very warm and was so oily it was virtually inedible. The chicken and cashew nut with stir fried vegetables in a spicy sauce was an improvement and the egg fried rice had lots of omelettey bits in it, but that too was also on the cool side.
