UNFORTUNATELY the Dump the Pump campaign is doomed to failure in its present form.

Mr Prescott soon backtracked over road tolls and other unpopular anti- motorist proposals - handing over his role to his deputy - when the Government realised it would be a vote loser. Likewise City of York Council following your recent campaign against the closure of the local swimming pools.
As a General Election draws nearer the lesson is clear - harness this dissatisfaction to demonstrate how many votes New Labour might lose as a result and you can be sure of some positive action.
