YORK WASPS' board of directors have delayed naming the rugby league club's new coach until later this week.
Originally they were hoping to reveal the identity of the new man holding the Huntington Stadium reins late yesterday but an announcement is now unlikely to be made until either tomorrow or Thursday.
The original shortlist has been trimmed from six to two but the directors want more time to make their choice.
Chief excutive Ann Garvey said: "There are two people in the running and it is a terribly hard decision to make. The board feel that we have to get the right man for the job so a decision is being delayed."
The board were in contact with both candidates yesterday.
