York City and its supporters' club were quids-in after Saturday's high-profile friendly with Manchester United.
In a boost for the Bootham Crescent coffers, the 9,003 crowd saw City take around £60,000, in gate receipts. However, the final figure will be smaller because the club's expenses, including stewarding and policing, have still to be settled.
When City played United back in October 1995, the club received record gate receipts from a crowd of just over 9,300 of more than £63,000.
However, Saturday's attendance was boosted by thousands of youngsters, who had enjoyed entry at concessionary prices.
The final total should mean City have received around £150,000 for the transfer of Nick Culkin to Old Trafford in 1995.
The Red Devils paid £100,000 for former rookie shot-stopper with Saturday's lucrative friendly part of the deal.
The York City Supporters' Club drive to recruit new members also received a shot in the arm with a 150 new supporters joining up on Saturday.
It means the club now has 313 members, already surpassing the estimated 250-strong membership of last season.
The number should increase again after tonight's match against Middlesbrough with a supporters' club official in the club shop from 6pm tonight for fans wanting to join.
