ALL (Scottish) Power to his elbow.
Mark Fitzsimmons, Liverpudlian manager of the new Scottish Power store which has just opened at Clifton Moor, York, attempts a highland fling to the strains of piper Roddy MacDonald. So far the store has employed 14 of the 17 sales staff needed to run this 186th retail outlet of the power company.
The 8,000 sq ft of what was most lately Brantano Shoes on the Hurricane Way retail park is the company's first "warehouse concept" store in which the public are invited to try out brands of vacuum cleaners, camcorders and DVD sound rooms.
Mark jokes: "I know it's confusing - being a Scouser managing a Scottish store in Yorkshire - but somehow they let me in!"
The store will also promote its own gas and electricity supplies - by giving customers computer estimates of the kind of savings they can glean by switching to Scottish Power.
