Costcutter York and District Senior league division one leaders Dunnington won their derby game at Stamford Bridge to go 31 points ahead - but only after some worrying times.
Stamford Bridge managed to make only 113 as Simon Kellett took three for 28 and Paul Spofforth three for four. Former Dunnington player Graham Freer held his former club at bay with an unbeaten 31.
Mark Owens took five for 42 for Stamford Bridge but Chris Burgess played a match-winning innings of 29 as Dunnington eased to a three wicket win.
Ripon lost a little ground in their bid to catch Dunnington as they were held to a draw at Wilberfoss despite gaining maximum batting points.
Neil Jackson was top scorer for the Cityzens with 56 while Gary Blackburn supported with 47, Tim Collins 32 and Chris Warters 29 in the total of 200 for eight. Wilberfoss spinner Andy Gray took five for 56.
Although Stewart Hawley took three for 39, Wilberfoss were never in danger of defeat and made a comfortable draw at 160 for six.
Sessay gained a respectable draw at home to promotion-seeking York, stalwart John Flintoff making 53 as his side closed at 152 for six after York had made 186 for nine.
David Carlow, a recent recruit from Bath, made 32 for York and former Brighton and Hove player Ed Senneck scored 29.
Richard Wentworth took four for 15 and Darren Atkinson three for 23 for Sessay. York junior Tom Pringle then took three for 22 to jeopardise Sessay's reply.
Beverley Town, who struggled in the first half of the season, are waltzing up the table and their six wicket win at Dringhouses has taken them to fifth place.
Only Ged Leeds, with 24, withstood Beverley pair Barry Sayer (four for 26) and Jamie Mitchell (three for seven) as the home side were dismissed for 101.
Mick Kenyon then took three for 17 but Beverley had no real problem in moving to a six wicket win as Ali Brumfield made 28 and Richard Taylor 44.
Crayke boosted their hopes of survival and at the same time virtually ended Duncombe Park's lingering hope of promotion. Crayke won by six wickets after dismissing Park for 99 in 41.3 overs. Travis Friend made 27 for the Helmsley side, who succumbed as Mick Hutchinson took six for 47. Andy Dawson then hit 37 as Crayke harvested the points.
Rain ended play early in the match between the top two sides in division one, with Goole 20 without loss against Civil Service.
