Malton and Norton golfer Simon Dyson was today hoping to build on a great second round which has put him in contention for the TNT Dutch Open at
Noordwijkse.
He finished with a flourish yesterday with birdies at the 16th and final
holes to finished in four under par 68.
That gave him a two round total of 139, just four strokes adrift of the leader, 26-year-old Stephen Allan of Australia.
Dyson, 22, who also birdied the 8th and 11th holes, didn't drop a shot as he improved on his opening day 71.
However, Selby's Nick Ludwell failed to make the cut after rounds of 75 and
73 left him four over par.
His hopes were killed off early on in his second round as he dropped a
couple of strokes at the 571-yard par 5 second and two more at the fourth.
