THE Country Landowners Association (CLA) is extending its appeal for holiday accommodation in the region for Zimbabwean farming families.
Dorothy Fairburn, regional CLA director in the county, said: "Our head office has already had offers of help for those families in desperate need of a break from the land-grab which has led to the violent deaths of some farmers."
Families in Zimbabwe have appealed for help because there are constraints on taking money out of the country.
CLA members have offered holiday cottages and accommodation in their own homes during the next two months.
"Those who can't provide accommodation can help," said Miss Fairburn.
Donations can be made to a specially-created holiday trust fund and donations can be sent to the fund care of David Woleseley, Brinton, Castle Kennedy, Stranraer, Scotland, DG9 8SL.
Miss Fairburn said: "The CLA is delighted to be able to co-ordinate the offers of accommodation and we are proud of the members who have already responded to the appeal.
"Farming families in Zimbabwe continue to be harassed, especially in country areas and CLA members in this region can help by offering accommodation or donating money to the holiday appeal."
