I AM investigating the death of a Corporal Chapman, who was accidentally killed on the airfield at Full Sutton some time during the winter of 1944-1945. He was killed whilst coupling up a tractor unit to a Halifax bomber, but I am unable to establish the exact date of this sad event or indeed his full name and RAF trade.
What I do know is that Corporal Chapman had recently married a member of the Waaf at the station who was known as 'Junior Pickering' and is believed to come from the town of Pickering.
I am anxious to trace and make contact with this lady.
