JANET Morley has been appointed to the new position of fundraising manager for St Leonard's Hospice.
Janet, whose most recent previous post was as fundraising and retail organiser, has worked at St Leonard's for 15 years.
She played a major part in setting up hospice shops in Acomb, Haxby, Pocklington and Tang Hall, the furniture sale room and the fundraising centre in Acomb.
Her move follows the departure of Karen Russell to the commercial sector.
In her new post Janet will manage all aspects of the hospice's fundraising, publicity and retail activities, and be a member of its senior management committee.
She plays a major role in the national hospice movement and is a member of the national executive of the National Association of Hospice Fundraisers.
Janet lives with her husband Phil in Woodthorpe, York.
Hospice chief executive Steven Harker said: "We are delighted that Janet has taken over her new responsibilities as fundraising manager - a key role in the hospice which depends almost entirely on fundraising activities and the support of the community."
