PIRATES will forsake the Seven Seas for the streets tomorrow to plunder pieces of eight and doubloons for our Hospice 2000 Appeal.
The highlight of a special silver jubilee celebration at Oaken Grove Primary School in Haxby will be an It's a Knockout event with a pirate theme.
The sports day with a difference, jointly organised by school staff, governors and parents, takes place at the school between 2pm and 5pm.
Former pupils and anyone involved with the school over the years have been invited to join in the fun.
A band of pirates will gather at grey Firs in the centre of Haxby at 1.45pm and will parade along The Village and Usher Lane to oaken Grove, collecting en route for the St Leonard's Hospice Millennium Appeal.
BBC Radio York's David Dunning will officially open It's a Knockout at 2.15pm and Karen Petch from YTV's Calendar will help all the buccaneers onto a giant pirate ship.
