OUTDOOR workers in North Yorkshire are being targeted in a campaign to highlight the dangers of soaking up too much sunshine.
As part of National Sun Safety Week, next week, Hambleton District Council's health team is taking the message to building sites and farms.
The team members will also be manning a roadshow at markets in Easingwold and Thirsk, as well as other market towns in the district.
"Our message is a simple one. We are not saying don't go out in the sun. We are saying be sensible, use common sense and cover up with protective cream and light clothing," said Councillor Percy Featherstone, chairman of Hambleton's environmental health and housing committee.
Fact sheets on sun creams and protection, sunbeds and skin cancer will be distributed at the roadshow in Thirsk Market Place on Monday between 10am and 12.30pm.
They will also be available at Easingwold Market Place the following Friday, also between 10am and 12.30pm.
