Forward on July 13 were 203 finished cattle including 48 young bulls; 1,737 finished sheep including 120 ewes; 948 finished pigs including 123 sows/ boars.
Cattle (a smaller entry of cattle were a much firmer trade for all classes): steers, med to 112.5p (197.4p) av 99.01p, heavy to 126.5p (221.9p) av 101.9p; heifers, med to 121.5p (213.2p) av 96.6p, heavy to 123.5p (216.7p) av 101.3p; young bulls, med to 106p (185.6p) av 94.4p, heavy to 101p (178.1p) av 92.4p.
Sheep (a slightly smaller entry of lambs were a much faster trade): Lambs, standard to 94.4p (205.2p) av 85.8p, med to 95.9p (208.5p) av 88.9p, heavy to 92.4p (200.9p) av 89.1p, overweights to 86.4p (187.8p) av 84.5p; ewes, light to £15.50 (£12.37), heavy to £29 (£20.68), Suffolks to £29, Cont to £24, blue-faced Leicester to £20, Mules to £29, horned to £15.50.

A statement from the mart: "We feel we should strongly recommend beef and lamb producers, in their own interest, to apply for registration with FABBL because of the increasing disparity in prices reached between farm-assured and non-assured stock."
