THE millennial curse has struck again. This negative force has already condemned the Dome to infamy, put a spoke in the big wheel and caused London's bridge to wobble under the weight of hundreds of pedestrians.
It is unlikely York's Millennium Bridge will suffer similar undulations. Now its opening has been postponed possibly until November, initial traffic will be confined to the hardiest hikers and cyclists.
We fervently hope this is the last delay. If not, the trustees could save face by suggesting that the bridge was always intended for what purists still insist is the real Millennium - 2001.
