ON Saturday I took my two sons, Finn and Murray aged ten and eight, to see Turandot at the Theatre Royal. For three hours they sat engrossed by the wonderful spectacle. This introduction to opera would determine their future attitude towards it.
At the end of the show their faces said everything. They had witnessed something great and I felt like hugging everyone in the cast for giving them something rich, uplifting and enduring. Upon returning home they immediately began drawing the costumes and acting out the Ping, Pang and Pong routines.
Thank you York Opera for a superb and unforgettable evening. We look forward to the next one. Not to be missed!
