ROWNTREE Park went top of the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League third division by beating Sheriff Hutton 67-41.
Anne Jackson and Brenda Gallagher top scored with 24 games but were held by Sheriff Hutton's first pair of Jo Johnson and Pauline Hull.
Rowntree Park had a score at Poppleton as the teams went into the final round level on 36 games each.
Poppleton's Chris Moss and Pat McKellar and team-mates Sue Sandle and Helen Pickles both won 7-5, but Park earned a 54-54 draw as Rebecca Skeels and Cheryl Broomhead won 8-4.
Poppleton also had a close encounter with Riccall, coming out 56-52 winners. Sally Fowles and Sue Sandle were unbeaten in winning 24 games.
Bishopthorpe's 62-46 victory over Bubwith kept them two points ahead of division two. Chris Smith and Andrene Watson were the only couple with three straight wins.
Riccall moved above Civil Service and away from the third division relegation zone after beating Dunnington 77-31. Sue Warren and Margaret Stanford were on top form, reeling off 10-2 12-0 and 10-2 victories.
Wigginton's Pauline Wrigglesworth and Denise Crane top scored with 28 games to edge out Suppon Upon Derwent 56-52.
Second-placed Wistow had a big 80-28 win at Poppleton with Val Bell and Pam Huggings only dropping four games.
Copmanthorpe did their prospects of avoiding relegation no harm by beating fellow strugglers Appleton Roebuck with Jenny Davis and Karen Hornby collecting 25 games from three straight games.
Fulford's Mary Kemp and Eileen Lavender recorded 7-5 9-3 11-1 wins in their club's success at Knaresborough to stay third.
Unbeaten Dunnington remained on course to collect the division five title by thrashing Selby 82-26.
Strensall did event better, amassing 90 games in the mauling of Wheldrake with each of their pairs winning 30 games.
Champions York beat Appleton Roebuck 76-32 to remain top of division one. Margaret Whitehead and Alison Taylor collected 26 games from three wins and Wendy Stirk and Louise Lister did even better, clocking up 30 games.
Fulford are still second after beating Poppleton in a game which saw Jackie Heels and Jill McCreedy rattle up 30 games.
Knaresborough edged out Dunnington 56-52 with Anne and Mia Albats winning three close matches from 23 games.
