I THANK Vicky and Paul Prentice of the Wheatsheaf Inn at Burn, near Selby, for their charity work.
Inspired by Simon White, who has recently undergone a bone marrow transplant with marrow donated from his sister, Paul decided to help others needing a transplant and overcame his fears to parachute jump for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust. He raised about £600, what a great effort.
Not content with that amount Paul's father, Mal, donated a beautifully-crafted rocking horse to be raffled in aid of the trust. With the help of Wheatsheaf customers, Vicky and Paul have raised £1,106 - a great effort for a small village pub.
On behalf of the trust I thank them.
For every £50 they raised the trust can add another potential life-saving donor to its bone marrow register - that's 22 new possible donors!
