Former York City striker Paul Baker, pictured above, has signed for non-league giants Bedlington Terriers.

Baker, 37, has agreed to join the Northern League outfit as a player after leaving his coaching role at Carlisle United following the arrival of new boss Ian Atkins.

The ex-Hartlepool striker was a member of Alan Little's coaching staff at Bootham Crescent before he signed for Torquay in 1996.

Baker will link-up with Bedlington hot-shot John Milner.

Milner played a couple of trial matches for York City the season before last when he bagged more than 60 goals as Bedlington lifted the Northern League title and reached the final of the FA Vase.
