BRITISH Sugar moved into second place in division three after beating Ben Johnson's by four wickets.
Steve Wragg hit an impressive 40 for the printers in their 103 but Sugar were firmly in control after Colin Fairclough and Dave Smith put on 52 for the first wicket.
Alan Hill and Mike Davis gave Wheldrake a great start against Burton Salmon with an opening partnership of 80. Neil Thurlow added a rapid 78 not out as Wheldrake raced to 226-4. The pace of Andy Fairburn and spin of Davis proved too much for Burton Salmon as Wheldrake won by 101 runs.
Selby managed their first win of the season at Melbourne in a tense finish. Alan Hullah's 60 included eight fours and two sixes as Selby reached 164-9. John Chaplin taking 4-62. Tim Stephenson and Greg Nesbitt put on 50 for Melbourne whose John Howden and Andrew Room kept the scoreboard ticking.
Richard Sherwood and Jim Barr both bowled throughout the Melbourne innings and aided by good fielding the result hung on the final ball which saw the last Melbourne batsman run out.
Wicketkeepers, Iain Brown and Harry Ayres each took four catches.
